Vision
The Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam is a botanical garden where you leave differently than you entered. This centuries-old cultural heritage site offers a harmonious place where people experience the beauty of plants in various ways, and where we help them understand what they observe. With its rich history and diverse collection, the Hortus provides the ideal platform for dialogue about plants and the essential role they play on Earth.
Mission
The Hortus Amsterdam aims to inspire people of all ages by showing them the beauty and diversity of plants, thereby increasing their knowledge and awareness. We contribute to helping people understand the vital importance of plants for life on Earth — and to act accordingly.
Partners
In pursuing our mission, we collaborate with partners who share our values and goals — from suppliers for our shop and café, to programming partners and sustainability networks.
