With its unique atmosphere, the Hortus is a beautiful location for wedding photography, fashion shoots, product photography, and other commercial shoots. Please note that by booking a shoot, you agree to the Hortus Amsterdam’s photography and video terms and conditions.
Wedding shoots
This includes, for example, wedding and engagement shoots, maternity shoots, and portrait photography.
Advance booking is required. The price (€125) includes admission for up to 4 people. For additional guests, you pay the regular entrance fee of €13.50 per person at the ticket desk; no advance booking is needed for this.
Occasional photography is only possible during regular opening hours and at fixed time slots (see time slots).
Please note that the Hortus is open to the public, so the spaces are not private. There are no changing facilities in the garden, and changing clothes in the greenhouses or restrooms is not permitted. The Hortus does not provide an in-house photographer; you will need to arrange your own.
Parking directly in front of the Hortus is not possible, though drop-off is allowed. The nearest parking facilities are the Waterlooplein garage, Markenhoven, and ARTIS parking, as well as street parking in the surrounding area.

Commercial shoots
It is possible to use the Hortus as a setting for fashion shoots, product shoots, and other commercial productions.
Productions of up to 10 people start at a rate of €950 excl. VAT per half day (4 hours).
All photo and film shoots must be booked in advance. Unannounced shoots will be refused or charged retrospectively. Prices apply during the regular opening hours of the Hortus (10:00 – 17:00). Please note that greenhouses or other spaces cannot be closed off to the public during opening hours. Prices do not include staff assistance.
Changing clothes or applying make-up is not permitted in the garden or greenhouses due to other visitors. A make-up and changing room can be rented separately at our regular venue hire rates, starting from €465 incl. VAT per half day (4 hours).
