Music on Sunday: Cacha Mundinho

Come and enjoy live music on our sunny terrace every Sunday evening!

Cacha Mundinho means ‘catch a small world’ in Cape Verdean Creole – and this quartet does exactly that. They perform an original mix of Portuguese fado, Brazilian rhythms, African grooves and Middle Eastern and Indian influences, interwoven with the freedom of jazz.

The music stems from the compositions of Joana Almeida, a fado singer and guitarist from Portugal who moved to Amsterdam in 2020. She puts a new spin on Fado and Portuguese music history with her personal style.

Together with Spain’s Maripepa Contreras on oboe and duduk, Brazilian double bassist Pedro Ivo Ferreira and percussionist Sjahin During (Turkish-Dutch), a unique sound was created: adventurous, poetic and rooted in the rich musical cultures of the Portuguese language-the lusophone world.

Reservations are not required. Live music on our terrace is part of our festive summer programme – with an entrance ticket you visit a terrace concert for free.
